According to AKZO NOBEL Holland, China's market demand for chloroacetic acid (MCAA) will grow at an annual rate of more than 10%, while the demand for high-end market will grow faster.


 


AKZO NOBEL's MCAA device in Taixing, Jiangsu, China, has expanded from 25 thousand tons per year to 60 thousand tons / year. MCAA is a chemical intermediate product, which can be widely used in agricultural chemicals, personal care products and pharmaceuticals.


 


Rob Frohn, a member of AKZO NOBEL's board of directors, said the demand for high-end MCAA in the world's largest MCAA consumer market is growing rapidly, because China's current attention to environment, quality and safety operations is growing.


 


According to AKZO NOBEL Smit global MCAA Marketing Manager Joppe Smit, the current global MCAA demand is 600 thousand tons - 700 thousand tons / year, the growth rate is basically the same as the growth rate of GDP. China currently consums about 300 thousand tons of MCAA annually, accounting for about half of the world's total demand, and is growing at a rate of more than 10%.
