Japanese garment enterprises will sign economic partnership agreements with India

Yoshiaki Kamiyama, President of Japan Textile Importers Association, said that Japan will soon sign an economic partnership agreement (EPA) with India. India clothing exporters can take advantage of this opportunity to expand India's share of the Japanese market.

In 2009, India accounted for only 24 billion 500 million of Japan's total market share of Japanese clothing, and 0.81% of its total clothing imports.

Due to geographical proximity and short completion time, China is still Japan's largest supplier of clothing.

About 80% of India's clothing imports come from China.
